Hidden Figures: Movies on the Green

Every Friday in September, the Middleton Community Development Authority is turning Stone Horse Green into an open-air theater. Grab dinner from a Downtown Middleton restaurant or pack a picnic, unfold your lawn chairs, and settle in as the stars come out and the screen lights up. All screenings are free and open to the public.

An inspiring true story lights up the Green this week. Hidden Figures tells the remarkable, real-life story of three African-American mathematicians whose calculations helped power NASA's race to space, even as they navigated the racism and sexism of their era. Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monáe lead a powerhouse cast that also includes Kirsten Dunst and Jim Parsons in this celebrated historical drama. It's a story about brilliance, perseverance, and the people history almost forgot — perfect for family movie night. The screening will begin at 7:00pm. Rated PG.
