Shakespeare's August Lovers

On a warm summer evening at Stone Horse Green, love, passion, and comedy take the stage! Madison Shakespeare Company presents "Shakespeare's August Lovers" on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 6 PM.

This reimagined presentation brings the timeless love affairs from Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Cyrano de Bergerac, and more to life outdoors. Celebrate classic love stories from Shakespeare, Edmond Rostand, Thomas Heywood, and William Congreve — complete with sparring Beatrice and Benedick, the magical pursuit of Helena, Hermia, Demetrius, and Lysander, and the beloved love triangle of Roxane, Christian, and Cyrano. Plus: the comedy chaos of Sonnets From a Hat.
